Business Visa

Eligibility

Dear applicants,

If you are applying for business visa or employment visa, please click the link below for downloading the proforma and it should be included in your application. Also, if you are working in the SOE (State-owned Enterprises), please submit a letter of request from any of the FAOs or SASAC or MFA (or any other duly authorized Chinese organisation). Thanks for your cooperation.

Business Visa is granted to a Chinese/Foreign National for the following purposes: 

  1. Chinese/Foreign National who wish to visit India to establish an industrial/business venture or to explore possibilities to set up industrial/business venture in India.
  2. Chinese/Foreign nationals coming to India to purchase/sell industrial products or commercial products or consumer durables.
  3. Chinese/Foreign Nationals coming to India for technical meetings/discussions, attending Board meetings, general meetings for providing business services support.
  4. Chinese/Foreign Nationals coming to India for recruitment of manpower.
  5. Chinese/Foreign Nationals who are partners in the Business and/or functioning as Directors of the company.
  6. Chinese/Foreign Nationals coming to India for consultations regarding exhibitions or for participation in exhibitions, trade fairs, business fairs, etc.
  7. Chinese/Foreign buyers who come to transact business with suppliers/ potential suppliers at locations in India, to evaluate or monitor quality, give specifications, place orders, negotiate further supplies etc., relating to goods or services procured from India.
  8. Chinese /Foreign experts & specialists on a visit of short duration in connection with an ongoing project with the objective of monitoring the progress of the work, conducting meetings with Indian customers and/or to provide some high level technical guidance.
  9. Chinese/Foreign Nationals coming to India for pre-sales or post-sales activity not amounting to actual execution of any contract or project.
  10. Chinese/Foreign Trainees of multinational companies/corporate houses coming for in-house training in the regional hubs of the concerned company located in India. 
  11. Chinese /Foreign students sponsored by AIESEC for internship on project based work in companies/industries.
  12. Chinese/Foreign nationals coming as tour conductors and travel agents and /or conducting business tours of foreigners or business relating to it etc.

As per the MoU on Simplification of Visa procedures signed between the Republic of India and the People’s Republic of China in June, 2003 the following categories of Business visas (applicable for PRC nationals) are issued:

  1. Six months Multiple Entry Business Visa: may be issued on the basis of a letter of invitation from a “Recognized Indian Organization” apart from other documents specified in the checklist.
  2. 2 months Single Entry Business Visa: may be issued on production of a letter of request from a “duly authorized Chinese organization" apart from other documents specified in the checklist.

 

Conversion of Business Visa

Business Visa cannot be converted to any other kind of visa during the stay of the Chinese/ Foreign national in India except in the following circumstances and with the prior approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs:

  1. Business visa may be converted to ‘X’ (Entry) Visa if a Chinese/Foreign National who has come to India on Business Visa marries an Indian National during the validity of his/her Business visa and does not intend to continue on Business Visa.

 

  1. Business visa of a foreigner who falls ill after his/her entry into India rendering him/her unfit to travel and requiring specialized medical treatment, may be converted to a Medical visa if he/she is eligible for grant of the Medical Visa and a medical certificate is obtained form a government/government recognised hospital.


Required Documents

1. General requirements:

  1. Passport to be valid for a minimum period of six months.
  2. Duly filled in and signed application form to be submitted in person or through an agent. Incomplete application will not be accepted.

2. Documents Required for Business Visa:

  1. Original (or copy) of the dispatch letter from the Company of the applicant
  2. Business license of applicant’s company and its authenticated English translation or CCPIT Registration Certificate of Incorporation
  3. A letter of request from any of the FAOs or SASAC or MFA (or any other duly authorised Chinese organisation) [This is applicable for applicants who are working with State Owned Enterprise (SOE) ]
  4. Completed Proforma
  5. Certification of incorporation or registration of the Indian company or PAN of Indian company
  6. Itinerary of visit
  7. Sponsorship letter issued to the applicant by the Indian company for the grant of Business Visa under any specific schemes of the Government of India.
  8. Bank Guarantee Certificate of minimum amount of RMB 1,00,000 or last 6 months of bank statement showing a minimum balance of RMB 1,00,000

3. Procedure for submitting a VISA application:

  1. Submission of all relevant documents mentioned in the checklist on the website is important for acceptance of the visa application at the Indian Visa Application Centre/Embassy/Consulate.
  2. It is a mandatory requirement to ensure that your photo is 2 inch x 2 inch (51mm x 51mm) in size with white background. Photos which do not meet this specification will not be accepted.

4. Additional Information:

  1. Visa to family members of a Chinese/Foreign nationals granted Business Visa

    Family members/dependents of a Chinese/foreign national who is granted Business Visa also needs to apply for a Business Visa and choose the option accompanying family member of the Business Visa applicant

  2. Conversion of Business Visa

    Business Visa cannot be converted to any other kind of visa during the stay of the Chinese/ Foreign national in India except in the following circumstances and with the prior approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government to India.

Fees

All Payments are accepted in cash and Alipay only. Payment through bank cards will not be acceptable at the India Visa Application Center.
